I am so glad and excited to say that I am halfway through my manuscript! It’s taken me a little longer nowadays since I started working. Don’t have an entire day to dedicate to writing anymore which has made me a little sad, but c’est la vie. I write every moment I can find during the day on anything that I can find. Last Thursday I was on my way to work and I found myself writing a key piece of information that is coming up in the chapters ahead. I often find myself repeating dialogue to myself in the car until I can get a moment to write it down.
So this is real y’all. When I started writing this manuscript I had the motivation excitement and no idea exactly how to get there. I spent a lot of months like 4 months of prepping writing down scenes, researching, outlining, reading books in my genre and others, not in my genre. Until I really took off writing in November with NaNoWriMo which I failed at gracefully. But nonetheless, I kept going. I had a steady workflow of words writing about 1,500 words a day, I wanted to work my way up to 5,000 words a day. But reality hit and I had to get a job until the actual writing becomes my job ‘officially’ (sshh I consider my writing my full-time job).
How will I fix this so I can stay on a schedule and write my 1,500+ words?
I’ll let you know how as soon as I figure it out.
Here’s to the 2nd half of my manuscript!
Cheerio!
Good luck! It is so hard finding time to write with a day job and keep a life going too. I get up early and write for an hour before I start working, but I wish I had time to write more. If you find any other ways, do write a post about it 🙂
